Rwanda Under-20 team, Junior Wasps, fly to Cairo late this afternoon for the Second Round return leg against Egypt which will be staged on Friday.
Boosted with the return of striker Blaise Itangishaka (Marines) and Bugesera Fc defender Niyonkuru Amani who missed the first leg due to an injury and suspensions, Coach Jean Baptista Kayiranga will be looking for a win to realize his mission of cruising to the third and final qualifying round.
The team departs today aboard Ethiopian Airways at 16h50 with expected arrival scheduled for early Wednesday morning. They will be accommodated at Hotel Tulip in Cairo.
They will hold a training session on Wednesday and Thursday evening at Cairo International Stadium ahead of their game on Friday night with kick-off set for 21h45.
In the first leg, Rwanda lost 0-1 to Egypt courtesy of a lone strike from Taher Mohamed Ahmed five minutes after the break.
The winner of the tie will face either Angola or Gabon at the final round of the qualifiers that will give birth to seven teams to join host Zambia for the final tournament from 26 February to 12 March 2017.
